About This Park

The Canada Games Plaza located in Prince George BC, offers the community an excellent area for group functions including exhibits, receptions, press conferences, and activities. During the winter months the space is outfitted with an outdoor rink for public skating and transforms into a water fountain during spring and summer.

The site is flat with well marked curb cuts or lower and has good accessibility for people using mobility devices. The site is flat with stable footing, asphalt, concrete or brick. The seating areas have room at each end for someone in a wheelchair to pull up and be part of the conversation or watch the skaters.

Access Route

Parking is a combination of on street and shared parking lots. During large events parking can be an issue, especially for people using mobility devices.  The lot under the library has four accessible stalls, the parking lot on the pool side has three stalls designated. Both sites are close to or have an access route to the plaza. Access routes throughout the site have a gentle 1 to 2 degree gradients comprised of firm and stable surface of concrete, pavers and asphalt. Download Full Accessibility Audit
