About This Park

Coghlin Park located in Kitimat BC, is an amazing spot for a photo opportunity that should not be missed! This spot is a scenic lookout, picnic and garden area that looks onto the Douglas Channel with the coastal mountains providing a breathtaking backdrop. To the east you will see the calm waters of Minette Bay; and Rio Tinto and the industrial sites are located to the west.

Street level parking is available. There are no designated accessible stalls. Parking leads directly to the garden and viewing area. There is no specific access route to the viewing area of the park. Viewing Areas

The area of park is comprised of grass with a gradient that ranges from a gentle/moderate 1 to 3 degrees in slope on average. The parking area gradient is a gentle of 1 to 2 degrees with a surface comprised of gravel. There is plenty of open space for accessing the viewpoint. There are no defined access routes to access the park benches located at viewing area. Viewing area is mainly grass with one area that has both concrete pads (benches sit on concrete) and grass.
