About This Park

Liard River Hot Springs is the second largest hot spring in Canada. The hot springs complex is of national ecological significance and is well known for its natural setting in a lush boreal spruce forest. Open year round, visitors can relax in the Alpha pool with water temperatures ranging from 42C to 52C. A shallow end for children and benches located in the pool make the Liard River Hot Springs an activity for the entire family. Facilities include a change house and composting toilet. A boardwalk, which leads to the hot spring pools, passes through a warm water swamp and boreal forest that supports rich and diverse plant communities as well as mammal and bird species. There is a seasonal day-use fee for visitors. To learn more, visit BC Parks.

Park Facilities & Accessibility Features

Access Route

Gravel and boardwalk access routes. A short, hard-packed gravel trail connects the campsites to day use/parking lot where the accessible outhouse is located. The hot springs pool has a boardwalk route to the pool itself, with a resting area part way that offers a bench, interpretive info sign and trash receptacle. The washrooms for the hot springs pool are located at the top of an uphill boardwalk route that can be accessible by wheelchair with good upper body strength. Download Full Accessibility Audit

They feature hard-packed gravel surfaces with ample spaces for tents or trailers and an area for campfires, which is flush with the ground. Each campsite has a standard picnic table. There are no utility or sewage hook ups at the campground however they do have easy to turn water spigots. Download Full Accessibility Audit
